Past Events
Our foundation members look forward to meeting you at various City of Aurora events as we continue to raise money for the memorial and the costs associated with it. We also find healing in reaching out to other Communities affected by tragedy. We have been strengthened by the compassion received when we share our stories with others, and look forward to personally thanking every one we meet for getting us where we are today. Our hope is to inspire strength and resilience in others by paying forward all of the compassion and love that has been given to us.

Each year, the foundation holds an annual fundraiser surrounding the memorial that is the centerpiece to Aurora’s Water Wise Garden. Our signature annual event’s name has changed from "Reflection Garden on Tap," to the “Day of Resilience.” The Day of Resilience is a beloved gathering that draws in over a dozen beer vendors, healing & wellness booths, food trucks, and sidewalk chalk artists, along with musical entertainment. The festivities will kick off on Saturday July 20th, 2024 with DJ Sinna-G at 7:30 AM, followed by the start of the 3rd annual "The Hero's Journey" 5k Run/Walk at 8:00 AM, which is organized by Zack Golditch, a survivor of the shooting, former NFL player, and now a firefighter in Colorado. While attendees explore our wellness booths, hear live music, and partake in beer tasting (for those over 21) from 8:00 AM to 12:00 pm our talented chalk artists will be creating stunning works of art around our beautiful memorial. Each creation will reflect the event's theme of "Reflections of Resilience" and inspire attendees to spread hope, love, and positivity in their lives and communities.

Hero's Journey 5K
July 23, 2022
The Hero's Journey relates to any person who faces a challenge, encounters struggles to overcome it, and returns home a Hero. We hope this 5K is a transformative experience as you run/walk together; whether you are a veteran runner or this is your first 5K. We chose to start the run across from the theater and end in the 7/20 Memorial in the Reflection Garden as your return home/finish line to honor the journey from tragedy to hope. It is the perfect place for each of us to honor and celebrate our collective accomplishment as well as our heroes from the 7-20-12 event. All proceeds will go towards the Zack Golditch opportunity scholarship. Zack is an Aurora, CO native who, though in the adjacent theater, was in wounded in the 2012 Aurora Theater Shooting. Zack spent parts of two seasons in the NFL before coming back to the Front Range. He now follows the path of those who came to his aid 10 years ago, with his career as a firefighter at South Metro Fire. To register as a runner or donate to this event click here Runners 21 and over will receive a wristband for unlimited beer tasting at the 3pm event. Rise Up For Boulder
May 17, 2021 - June 4, 2021
Rise Up For Boulder Fundraiser
Visit Resolute Brewery in Centennial on Monday May 17th and Friday June 4th and they will donate 10% of their proceeds to our "Rise Up For Boulder" campaign. We will be paying it forward to Mental Health Partners of Colorado's “TogetherStrong” campaign that will fund a resilient center to foster community healing. We hope to raise enough funds for at least one emotional support dog for their facility because we know first- hand how support dogs are vital to our continued healing journey. You may see our favorite support dog “Felina” there with us as we collect paper cranes to place on wreaths for the Boulder families. If you are unable to join us at Resolute, please consider making an online donation
