720MemorialRun
On Saturday, August 26, 2017 a 5K run and beerfest at the Aurora Municipal Waterwise Garden featuring the band, Brushfire and 17 breweries took place. It was the most perfect day ! So many came out to run, learn who our AMAZING memorial artist was (Douwe Blumberg of Douwe Studios!!), taste beer , eat food, listen to music, give hugs, play corn-hole, talk with vendors, cheer, walk the garden, see the chalk art….
We congratulated Yulia Avgustinovich & Nick Angelo of Yulia Avgustinovich Art! Their chalk design of an Iris x germanica (Bearded Iris) won the Artist Award – which was presented by Douwe Blumberg (the 7/20 Memorial Foundation’s artist for the sculpture being placed in the Reflection Garden). People’s Choice for Most Inspirational Flower was awarded to Tina and Jason Martinez for their Amsonia jonesii (Jones’ Bluestar). Thank you to all of our chalk artists for sharing your talent with us today, all 14 squares were works of art!
VOLUNTEERS, wow! You guys are the best! Could not have done this event without all of you!
