Over the years since the tragedy, our Community has received an outpouring of love from all over the world. As we look towards the future and excitedly anticipate the 7-20 Memorial Garden, we would like to thank everyone for the comfort, love and support you have given us on our journey to recovery. Thank you for sharing your hearts with us.

These photographs of the countless items left at the temporary memorial across from the theater in 2012 have been made possible with special thanks to the curator of collections at the Aurora History Museum. Jennifer Cronk was kind enough to share them, as well as her time and her passion for what they represent. She guided our 4 artists on a viewing of some of the items and explained the ongoing process it has taken to preserve and catalog each and every piece. She explained how even people who were just passing through Aurora would leave their mementos of compassion, some even writing notes on their hotel notepads. City staff began to collect the items in September of 2012 when the weather started to turn. Our hearts are warmed thinking of those who took the time to tag and store each piece with the same love and care they were placed there with.
